WHY IN THE NAME OF GOD AND ALL THAT IS HOLY DOES THE ORDINARIATE'S DIVINE WORSHIP, THE MISSAL HAVE A SUPERIOR ORDER OF MASS AND TRADITIONAL TRANSLATION OF THE CONFITEOR AND WE REGULAR ORDINARY FORMERS DON'T? IT JUST DOESN'T SEEM FAIR TO ME!

The Ordinariate's Divine Worship, the Missal has the more traditional Confiteor for their splendid OF Mass (which has the option of the PATFOTA):

I confess to Almighty God,to Blessed Mary ever-Virgin, to Blessed Michael the Archangel, to Blessed John the Baptist, to the holy Apostles Peter and Paul, to all the Saints, and to you, Brethren, that I have sinned exceedingly in thought, word and deed; (they strike their breast thrice) by my fault, by my own fault, by my own most grievous fault. Wherefore I beg Blessed Mary ever-Virgin, Blessed Michael the Archangel, Blessed John the Baptist, the holy Apostles Peter and Paul, all the angels and Saints and you my brethren to pray for me to the Lord our God.

Why O why do the step children get the good stuff and we who were always faithful get the scraps?

Because Holy Mother Church in her post-Vatican II wisdom knows that "regular ordinary formers" neither want nor deserve authentic worship that's worthy of God. Why should they, when their worship is centered on Man, not God? As a PrayTell type liturgist might say, why throw pearls before swine?

Priests are obliged to say what is in the Missal, but not the laity. When I go to the NO Mass I quietly say the Confiteor in Latin, in the old version. Maybe I should start saying it outloud, and have others do it too. Why should the laity be forced to worship with second rate prayers and translations? When enough people do that, the hierarchy will take note of the rebellion. The laity complain but do nothing about it, yet the sensus fidelium has the power to bring the Church back to its divine sense of worship.

Maybe the priest should have the ushers remove those who disrupt the liturgy, then have them banned by court order from the church for disturbing the peace.

Would that include the priest himself who won't say the black, or ad libs greetings and prayers, or gives a second "homily" right before the final blessing, or asks the "audience" to applaud whatever he thinks is worthy of applause? :-)

God bless.

I was thinking along the lines of the way things happened at St Nicholas du Chardonnet in Paris. The people got so fed up with the Novus Ordo priest and his liturgy that they drove him out with his liturgy, and just took over the church, bringing in the FSPPX. In other words people can have power and a say contrary to what the "progressives" think.

Just remember, every breakdown is a kind of breakthrough. The ultimate will be when what is left of the Roman Catholic Church meets in Council (will be labelled heretical) and elects a new Pope. If they are indeed the True Remnant, in time, the old order (V-2) will pass away a la the Anglican Church in England. Then the hard work of rebuilding will take place.

I do not think the next Papacy will be an orthodox one. Every organization perpetuates itself. The seeds of destruction having been planted (Spirit of V-2) the inevitable outcome cannot be stopped except by the Holy Trinity. But he may just let things go according to the will of men.

In the mean time, we pray and drive hundreds of miles to find a licit and valid Mass. Or not and accept that Ecclesia supplet.

Except, Ecclesia supplet does not remedy those cases wherein innocent persons bore the consequences of ministers making invalidating changes in sacramental form, and I don't think it does so for confession, either. So, I do not know.......
